Dr. Gerson's CV
Welcome to my website.
I am a Ph.D licensed Clinical Psychologist and work with youth between the ages of 3 and 18. I guide my patients in changing behaviors and thoughts that interfere with achieving goals and I instill hope that things can get better.  No problem is too big or too small. I specialize in treating, anxiety, OCD ADHD and depression. I've also worked extensively with children who have chronic medical conditions (and their siblings) and with children whose parents have serious medical issues.
Using research supported interventions, including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and a warm and a playful interpersonal style, I assist children and families in:
  • learning healthy ways to cope with the challenges of growing up
  • developing strategies that can make difficult problems more manageable
  • changing unhealthy habits and establishing good ones
  • reducing stress
I grew up in Lexington, Kentucky and received my bachelors degree from Washington University in St Louis, earned my masters and doctorate degrees from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, and completed my internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland.
I want to help create positive changes for you and your child.  Give me a call to discuss your concerns and get things started.

All the best to you and your family,

Dr. Arlene C. Gerson
